F-15, f-25,f-35,f-45,f55-12,f-65,f-75,f80-12,f-85,f-95,f-115. In 1972 the F-35 rrp was $99.50 and by 1980 $235.00. In 1975 the specification of the F-35 was modified to include a tortoise shell binding & marquetry stripe on the back.If yours does not have this it is probably pre 1975.My research suggests that the F-series were made by the Moridaira Guitar Company in Japan. Hi Folks; I have had a model F-65 for the past 20 years, serial number 0851, inside brace top sound hole. Mine is exactly as described by the second responder. I didn't buy mine new so do not know the original purchase date.
My F65 has a strange serial compared to the aforementioned, and I am having trouble dating it exactly. Bought it off an older gentleman who had this beauty sitting in his attic since he bought is seemingly for a ridiculously low price of $100 with it's hardshell case. It has those gorgeous snowflake styled inlays, fender tuners and all but the sticker inside says the serial is F7826618. Whether it's a fake or not I'm sure the hardshell case is worth what I paid, and it's sound is wonderfawesome (look up my name on YouTube and check out some of the newer acoustic posts if you care to give a listen) ...but I want all the info on it I can find yet I can't seem to find anything out about this one using the serial. The original owner said he bought it in the early 70's and couldn't recall what he'd paid. It was also from a local reputable music shop in the town I reside currently so I can't really imagine it being a fake...but I can't help to wonder since I can't find any info and the serial #'s in this thread are indicative of such. Here is a pic of it; Really is a lovely acoustic regardless, but for the sake of knowing/curiosity...
